Have a seat kids and I'll tell you a story of how the greatest minds in comicdom found each other... It was in college (what did you expect something fancy?) Michael, Jade, and Pat met at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I could bore you with the details but I won't. They all graduated with a variety of majors, from animation to graphic and industrial design. After school they went their separate ways, Pat back to Michigan while Jade and Michael stayed in Pittsburgh.
The friends stayed in contact over the years as they toiled at meaningless jobs. On a couple of occasions they dabbled in what they went to school for, a freelance job here and there, Michael working at an industrial design job for a few years but it just seemed empty and unsatisfying. It wasn't until the summer of 2007 that Jade (I give myself this credit...) had the ostentatious idea of creating and publishing their own comic books. The idea seemed like a DUH, between just Jade and Michael they had titles coming out of their ears. To get themselves motivated they bought a table at the 2007 SPX expo, this gave them all summer to put something together and get it printed.
When the two were sure this was what they wanted Pat was brought in to be the third leg of their stool. Pat didn't come alone he brought with him a vast comic universe with characters that your nana could fall in love with. Thus 0backbone productions and subsequently Zero the Octopus came screaming into the world. (that's how it happened more or less...)
